Is it possible to force a win if I have only a king and a knight. My opponent has only his king left.

No. Nobody with a reasonable understanding of the game can be "Force mated" when up against a King and a Knight.
Try setting up a mate position with the king and knight against a king. Take the knight back a move and then the defending king and loook at the options for alternative moves.
